William Wendell Gilman III (born May 24, 1988) is an American singer. Starting as a young country artist, he is known for his debut single "One Voice", a top 40 hit on the BillboardHot 100 and a top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 2000. He has released five albums, including three for Epic Nashville. In 2016, Gilman auditioned for season 11 of the US edition of The Voice and competed as part of Team Adam Levine, finishing as runner-up for the season. [1]

Billy Gilman’s performance in Episode BC04 consisted of singing Adele’s “When We Were Young.” Impressed by his powerful vocals and wide range, judges Mike, Saf, Pennies, and Fresh all gave standing ovations. Billy’s performance was strong enough to advance to the quarterfinals instead of Frank Sinatra, David Bowie, and John Denver, who ended up receiving Mike’s save in their preliminary.

Judge Cuts[]

Billy Gilman’s performance in Episode BC09 consisted of singing a stripped-down version of Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song.” Mike, Saf, guest judge Nerdy, Pennies and Fresh all gave him standing ovations. Very impressed by his talent, Nerdy hit his golden buzzer, sending Billy straight to the Quarterfinals.

Quarterfinals[]

Billy Gilman’s performance in Episode BC013 consisted of singing Roy Orbinson‘s “Crying.” Continually astonishing the judges, all four of them, Mike, Saf, Pennies and Fresh gave him a standing ovation. His performance was strong enough to advance to the semifinals instead of Mandy Harvey.

Semifinals[]

Billy Gilman’s performance in Episode BC015 consisted of singing “Anyway” by Martina McBride. Once again, Mike, Saf, Pennies and Fresh all gave him standing ovations. However, due to tough competition, he did not receive enough votes to advance to the Finals, eliminating him from the competition instead of Dimash.
