Background[]
Benjamin Schiff Platt is an American actor, singer, and songwriter. He began his career in theater as a child and has appeared in Broadway productions of The Music Man (2002), The Book of Mormon (2012–2013), and Dear Evan Hansen (2015–2017), receiving multiple accolades for his performance as the title character in the latter, including the 2017 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. Platt's film credits include roles in Pitch Perfect (2012), Pitch Perfect 2 (2015), Ricki and the Flash (2015), and Dear Evan Hansen (2021). He has also starred in the Netflix TV show The Politician, for which he was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy in 2019.
Platt signed with Atlantic Records in 2017 and released his debut studio album, Sing to Me Instead, in March 2019. [1]

Ben Platt's Judge Cuts performance in Episode OUT01 consisted of singing Brandi Carlile's "The Joke" while playing the piano. Mikey, Luke, guest judge KD, Pennies and Fuz all gave him standing ovations. His performance was strong enough for the judges to send him to the Quarterfinals instead of Jordan Anthony.

Quarterfinals[]
Ben Platt's Quarterfinals performance in Episode OUT07 consisted of singing "Somewhere" from West Side Story. Mikey, Luke, Pennies and Fuz all gave him standing ovations. Ben placed in either 7th or 8th place in the voting. Mikey, Luke, Pennies and Fuz all unanimously voted for him in the Judges Choice, sending him to the Semifinals instead of Matt Rife.

Ben Platt's Semifinals performance in Episode OUT10 consisted of singing The Beatles' "I Want To Hold Your Hand." Mikey, Luke, Saf and Fuz all gave him standing ovations. He did not receive enough votes to advance to the Final, eliminating him from the competition instead of Duo Destiny.
